2021 Mirage Interior and Exterior Design
One of the main highlights of the restyled Mirage includes the new front and rear design, as well as the refined interior that features an available 7-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio Screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To bring continuity to the entire Canadian lineup design, the 2021 Mirage features the "Dynamic Shield" front face. The entire front of the car ahead of the windshield has been completely redesigned with the signature Mitsubishi Dynamic Shield, conveying a sense of motion, protection, and craftsmanship.
The design sweeps around the sides toward the middle nose in a protective embrace. This, combined with the square grille lines, give the front end a more robust and sharper look. The enhanced lamp layout makes the front look more full, more stable, and more aggressive. The design of the multi-bulb LED combination lamps connects them visually with the grille and with the fog lamps located at the bumper corners.
The new broader and sharper bumper at the back of the Mirage looks lower and wider with a renewed sense of proportion that is further improved by the design of the new rear L-shared LED tail lamps. The 2021 Mirage Hatchback also features wide-spoke 15-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. The 2021 Mirage also introduces two new colours to its portfolio, Sand Yellow metallic and White Diamond.
2021 Mirage Safety
The 2021 Mirage is designed with a wide array of safety features and technologies, including seven airbag Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), Hill Start Assist, 4WD anti-lock brakes, Active Stability Control, and Mitsubishi Motors' patented advanced Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) impact-absorbing safety cell technology. Should a collision occur, the RISE system's energy-absorbing body structure helps to dissipate kinetic energy away from the driver and passengers.
New for 2021, Mitsubishi introduces advanced safety features that include:
- Forward Collision Mitigation System with Pedestrian Detection - assists in the prevention of a frontal collision or helps reduce the severity of that collision if it becomes unavoidable
- Lane Departure Warning - uses an onboard camera to monitor lane position in front of the vehicle and sends alerts if the vehicle unintentionally leaves its lane
- Automatic High Beams - automatically adjusts between brightness levels depending on the surrounding lights
Mirage Performance
The Mirage offers drivers a 1.2L 3-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 78 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 74 lb-ft torque at 4,000 RPM. The latest version of Mitsubishi's Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) variable valve-timing system maximizes fuel efficiency and power output while significantly minimizing exhaust emissions.
